As the restaurant name implies we tried Lomi, Goto and Tapsilog. The Goto was a complimentary from my buddy boy Aldo. The first on our order list, chosen by my sister - TAPSILOG!
"Tapsilog" is a tagalog portmanteau for Tapa, Sinangag at Itlog (Beef, Fried Rice, and Egg). If it is in English it could be Befriegg (hehehe!). The tapa was tasty and sweet, you can really taste the marinated beef and I think the sauce made it sweet.
Followed by my girlfriend's pick, GOTO and "monay" (bread)!
A Batangas Goto is different from the traditional goto that we know. This one does not have rice in it. It is some what similar to "camto" or "pares". Its as good as an "ulam"; though my girlfriend ate it like soup. It usually comes with "laman-loob" (includes pig liver, pig intestines), but the one we had has small pork meats in it.
And to top everything off,I had of course the super yummy LOMI!
Batangas Lomi is at its best with a "toyomansi" (soy sauce and calamansi) and chili sauce. Every time you eat it, you take a little sauce in your sauce dish and then mix it altogether. It also serves as a sumptuous dip for your "monay" (bread). Yum! Yum! Yum!
The ambiance of the place is really nice, it really brings you to the country side of the Philippines. The small place is made out of nipa and the chairs and tables were made out of bamboo where the customers can just sit back, relax and enjoy! Four thumbs-up to Liam's!
